Tiger-print Jumpsuit

I never thought I would wear something that resembles a tiger-print jumpsuit in my life.
And now that I'm a mom, my style has somewhat become more practical, classic, subdued and comfortable.
Wait.. I think I just perfectly described this Rachel Roy jumpsuit (except about the subdued part)!





It really is so light and comfortable, quite perfect for summer.
Love the tassel belt too!



Did you also notice my push present from the hubby?
A Jumbo Chanel Re-issue! I've been longing for this for years, I tell you!

Worn with Givenchy flat sandals that are awesome for carrying around an 18-pounder.
I wonder what I will do with all my heeled shoes??

Wearing Classical Art

It is all about the skirt for this outfit.





I know that clothes are an art form but this is truly wearing art in the literal sense.
I'm wearing D&G dress, Givenchy booties and Mango corset belt.



I did some sleuthing and found that the print on the skirt is a real 19th century painting.


Sappho and Phaon is an 1809 neoclassical painting by the French painter Jacques-Louis David of Cupid,
Sappho and her lover Phaon.



She has grown big, huh? :)

God Bless Lucy, Today and Forever

We had our daughter Rafaela Salustia’s (Lucy for short) Christening in May so we thought it fitting to have a Flores de Mayo theme.
Flores de Mayo ("Flowers of May") is a Catholic festival held back home in the Philippines during the month of May.
Lasting for a month, it is held in honor of the Virgin Mother Mary.

Lucy’s Christening gown, shoes and bonnet were hand-sewn by my mom and were made from an old lace dress of mine.
The dress was gathering dust at the back of my closet and I could not think of a much better way to make use of it.
It is now an heirloom piece that we hope our next daughter and even Lucy’s daughter will get to wear in the future.
They are now treasures that we will cherish forever.





Our souvenirs are tiny Burpee watering cans containing soil pellets and zinnia flower seeds.
We tried planting one of them a few weeks before the event and they do grow (see souvenir shot)!
They were re-packaged by my mom. She removed the carton packaging and added the cluster of peach flowers on top.
Custom event stickers were added for a finishing touch.

Our cake from Butterfly Bakeshop was made to match the souvenirs!



Lastly, my husband created a picture slideshow of Lucy’s first 4 months of life to show during the Christening party.
The slideshow also included our own version of the popular Mila’s Daydreams.
We call it “Wishful Thinking”.



It was a memorable day made more remarkable by the love and creativity poured by everyone especially by my mom.
One can understand, Lucy’s her first grandchild after all!

Spring Awakening

Hello World!!!
I'm still here... but I must say I have neglected this blog pretty badly.
The demands of being a new mom and going back to work was quite overwhelming.
But I missed blogging so I'm hoping to get my groove back :).

We brought the little lady to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last weekend and she had a fantastic time.
It was my first Mother's Day too so it was a pretty special day.







We were pretty fascinated by the fascinators at the Royal wedding so we had Lucy wear one.
Besides, between myself and her, she's the one who can successfully pull it off :).





We were fascinated by Patrick Dougherty's woven sculptures as well.



I wore Rachel Roy floral jacket, JCrew blouse, Marc Jacobs shorts,
Swatch cube earrings, Vivienne Westwood sling bag and Chloe booties.

A Winter Stroll

Who's ready for Spring?
I know I am! I'm so over the cold weather and leafless trees.



Nevertheless, one must still try to go out and get some fresh air.
We took advantage of a sunny weekend afternoon and took a walk in Central Park.



We brought our precious sleeping little cargo with us :).



I wore a puffer coat from Modcloth. I love the pillow collar and the tuxedo-like tail on this coat.
Also, Marc by Marc Jacobs dress and Martin Margiela boots I snagged on the last weekend of the Barney's Warehouse sale.



Being cooped up at home had our creative juices running.
Inspired by the blog Mila's Daydreams, here's our first attempt in creating an imaginative world for our Lucy.
