WINNER: THUMBELINA FASHIONISTA
Thank you to everyone who joined. Stay tuned for more theater giveaways!
One of our passions, aside from food and shopping, is watching Broadway (and Off-Broadway) musicals and plays.
We would patiently try our luck in the lottery every week until we win affordable tickets.
So I was quite happy when Mark of ArtMeetsCommerce invited me to watch A Little Night Music!

I would not go into much details but the musical is probably one of the best I've seen!
The love stories are complicated and oddly satisfying.
"The summer night has smiled on the young, the fools and, finally, the old."

So for my dear readers, here is a link for a generous discount.
Also, a chance to win 2 giveaway tickets to the show!
Just leave a comment on this post as to what your favorite musical is and why.
It's that simple!
A winner will be chosen randomly on October 20, 2010 10PM EST.
Good luck! :)
Oh and have you noticed, my belly just recently POPPED!!
It's so obvious now that people are giving up their subway seats for me.
I have mixed feelings about it but I'm definitely loving the special attention I'm getting.

Wearing Patrizia Pepe leather jacket, F21 sweater, A Pea in the Pod maternity leggings (love!!!),
Lanvin Hiver boots and coral necklace (for good pregnancy health)

My favorite pop musical would have to be Jersey Boys. Not only do I love it because of its music but because of the memory of that night when I watched it with my best friend, Andrew, who was based in Toronto. I had just been through a rough period of my journey as an immigrant in the US and could very well relate to The Four Seasons in their plight to make it big with only their talent to boot. The songs evoked emotions ranging from pure joy to wistful sentimentally and finally, an unrelenting hope. I loved watching it with my best friend who I haven't seen in years. I always look back to that memory with great fondness.
As for my favorite classical musical, I'd have to say it's Phantom of the Opera. I feel that this musical sums up everything that is great in theater performances. The production value was grand, the talent amazing and the music simply classic. I love Phantom of the Opera and have seen it twice. I first saw it ten years ago when I visited New York in the coldest winter in 20 years. I stood in line for 45 minutes at TKTS to get tickets as the blizzard was at its peak. I didn't mind. It was all worth it. This was definitely one musical that sums it all up: the magic of theater is in the viewing itself. One is mesmerized and is led to experience a relationship that is strictly between the characters and its audience.

I think my favorite musical is, and may always be, the Lion King. It may sound cheesy, but I saw it when I was little. It was my first time visiting New York City and the time that I fell in love with it.

Watching Wicked was probably my favorite because not only was it amazing (music, set, costumes, design, lights and all the action!!) but it was a surprise gift from my bf. He's not into musicals, which I usually have to drag him to, but he did it for me plus he actually ended up enjoying it (not so much Mamma Mia lol!)

a friend lives right by NYC so I'd love to win this for HER TO GO. haha My favorite musical is RENT though. I love the gritty nature and the honesty and the fun, rockin' music.

Mamma Mia brings the cheesiness in me. I love singing to Abba songs, which brings me back to memories of my mom and dad when I was younger. The story is simple and heartwarming about a mother, daughter and 3 men, one who could possibly be her father. I could relate to the story as well because my I raised my daughter as a single mother for a few years before I met the man who would be man enough to be my husband and to be her dad.

Congratulations! You are making maternity look fabulous. Currently, my favorite musical is "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson," which I saw off-Broadway a while back. Thanks for opportunity for tickets.

Thanks for the giveaway! You look fabulous pregnant, btw!
My favorite musical has to be South Pacific. If you haven't seen it yet (it's playing at Lincoln Center), you've got to go see it! I was in a cheesey middle-school production of it, so whenever I hear some of those songs, I get nostalgic.
