i've been checking stuff off my christmas list like a madwoman these past few days.
the husband and i are extremely excited about spending the holidays in manila and hongkong!
i can't wait to see our family and eat all the local food that i've been missing.
and shop ofcourse ;).

tomorrow is the last day to enter my Hansel and Gretel opening night at the Met Opera giveaway!
i know there are a lot of restrictions (specific date, on a week night, lives near NY, etc), but this is a wonderful experience for the holidays! it's for kids of all ages!

to whet your appetite for the event, here are some more pictures and trivia...

- the role of the Witch is played by a man! he's one of opera's rare male-to-female cross-dressing characters.
- hansel, on the other hand, is sung by a woman! in opera, the mezzo-soprano voice is often used to portray young men.
- based on the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, this opera about a brother and sister was written BY a brother and a sister!
- it takes an hour and 20 mins - and a lot of make-up and costume magic! - to transform tenor Philip Langridge into the Witch.

christmas came early this year!

i twitted a few weeks ago that i won $1,000 gift card at derek lam.
i was invited by a friend to the designer's trunk show and won their raffle.
i'm so excited!   it's not everyday one wins shopping money ;).

today, i finally took my winnings and bought the following items.
i waited a few weeks because i know that the sales are coming.
