talented christine of the blog what was i thinking? contacted me a few weeks back if i wanted to be featured on her blog love thursday posts.
ofcourse, i said yes!  i'm such a fan of her features and especially her drawings.

twists and turns

sweet martina of the little fashion treasury tagged me with an award to reveal 10 interesting things about me.

i call them my 10 little life twists and turns.

1. i was born almost a month in advance because my mom got surprised of the loud new year firecrackers.


2. i miss my wacky family. last christmas, i gave them ed hardy shirts and they just hammed it up in front of the camera! how beautiful are they?



3. i'm still daddy's little girl.



4. my husband was my first and last love.
i did not have any other boyfriends before him. lucky guy ;).


5. husband proposed to me in new york city in 2005 on a holiday trip.
we did not realize that fate will bring us back to nyc a year later to settle down.
it was meant to be! he proposed at central park's bow bridge.


6. i lived and worked in singapore for a year. i enjoyed it very much!


7. my other favorite city is the city of lights... paris!
i would love to go back and maybe live there someday.
i love french cuisine too (except the frog legs).


8. i used to be addicted to LV.   thanks to tPF (the Purse Forum).  such enablers!
now i've stopped since i'm addicted to something else... shoes!
here's my collection.


9. another addiction are reality shows. it's all i ever watch on TV!
i follow big brother, amazing race, american idol, america's got talent,
the real housewives of new york and new jersey, top chef, america's next top model, top design,
make me a supermodel, project runway, nyc prep, jon & kate plus 8 to name a "few".
i even watched the greatest american dog! crazy, huh?!

10. i'm a theater addict too. i love all musicals and plays!
we try to watch as often as we can. it can get expensive though so we try the theater lottery all the time.
i'm usually pretty lucky at getting picked. today, we watched Chicago the Musical but my absolute favorite is WICKED!!

have you googled yourself lately?

i did.
(updated: the post was eventually deleted.)

i came across a blog entry and was quite happy and flattered that someone,
somewhere (in houston, actually) was able to relate and find some inspiration in my blog.
i started this blog mainly because i too was able to relate and was inspired by the bloggers i follow.
jane, judy, nini, lucrecia to name a few.  and i'm glad she found the same in my posts.

another reason, in case you're interested, of why i started this blog is because i'm in desperate need
of a creative outlet. i work long hours (atleast 10 hours a day, sometimes on sundays too)
doing technical work. my work is in finance and technology so i felt i needed to do something creative
as a hobby to balance my life. i like writing and i love fashion (OBVIOUSLY) so i started this blog.

BUT, there was also a comment in her post about me having a huge mouth and me being anorexically thin.

if "huge mouth" was meant in the literal sense, then i'm fine with it. i think a huge/wide mouth is an asset :D.
but aneroxic?  I AM NOT.  i don't starve myself and i love to eat.  just fast metabolism i guess and probably because of the high stress job that i have.

so have you googled yourself lately?
you should give it a try :).

on other news, husband and i just bought a new point-and-shoot camera since our old one
got wet and died when we took it to our dominican republic vacation. we need a small and
compact camera since we don't want to be lugging the bulky dlsr all the time.

we finally decided to get the panasonic lumix ts1. in bright orange, ofcourse!
it seems perfect for clumsy and trigger-happy folks like us as it is shock-proof,
dust-proof, water-proof and has wide-angle lens. it takes great HD videos too!



what compact camera do you use? do you recommend another brand and model?
we have 7 days to test this camera so there is still time to change our minds!

wanted to post this as it was the last picture our old camera was able to take.
a strong wave came while my husband was taking this picture and
it promptly drowned my beloved 3 year old camera. i actually insisted on this wave shot!
ah, the price we pay for vanity.

now, i do have other items on my closet aside from stripes (see previous post).
it just so happened that i am also wearing stripes on the picture
that "won" me as glamour's best dressed reader for June 15!

lex's chick magnet

This contraption drew more stares, compliments and conversation than any other shoe or bag that I own.  If you own one, be prepared to get stopped and questioned by complete strangers everywhere you go.  This is the Strida 5.0.  Lex was lucky enough to score one at the DWR Sample Sale for 50% off!  He always wanted a folding bike but thought it was too expensive.  I guess it was just his lucky day when we went into the store and the only bike on Sample Sale was still available.

The cool thing about this bike is that it can be folded into something as small and compact as a baby stroller.  You can take it with you in the subway and carry it as it is very light... merely 20 pounds!  You can also use it in approximately 15 seconds.

He had so much fun! I must admit I'm a little bit jealous. Now if only I can learn how to bike... maybe I'll buy one for myself. In red! :)
