Spring Awakening

Hello World!!!
I'm still here... but I must say I have neglected this blog pretty badly.
The demands of being a new mom and going back to work was quite overwhelming.
But I missed blogging so I'm hoping to get my groove back :).

We brought the little lady to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens last weekend and she had a fantastic time.
It was my first Mother's Day too so it was a pretty special day.







We were pretty fascinated by the fascinators at the Royal wedding so we had Lucy wear one.
Besides, between myself and her, she's the one who can successfully pull it off :).





We were fascinated by Patrick Dougherty's woven sculptures as well.



I wore Rachel Roy floral jacket, JCrew blouse, Marc Jacobs shorts,
Swatch cube earrings, Vivienne Westwood sling bag and Chloe booties.

A Winter Stroll

Who's ready for Spring?
I know I am! I'm so over the cold weather and leafless trees.



Nevertheless, one must still try to go out and get some fresh air.
We took advantage of a sunny weekend afternoon and took a walk in Central Park.



We brought our precious sleeping little cargo with us :).



I wore a puffer coat from Modcloth. I love the pillow collar and the tuxedo-like tail on this coat.
Also, Marc by Marc Jacobs dress and Martin Margiela boots I snagged on the last weekend of the Barney's Warehouse sale.



Being cooped up at home had our creative juices running.
Inspired by the blog Mila's Daydreams, here's our first attempt in creating an imaginative world for our Lucy.

The Playground

If you have lived in New York for a while, you would be quite familiar with sculptor Tom Otterness' work.



My favorite used to be Life Underground at the 14th St-8th Ave Subway station.
But it isn't now.



It's quite a gem, isn't it?
It is aptly called "Playground" and can be found in Hell's Kitchen.
The details are quite charming and whimsical.

I'm definitely bringing the little girl here to run and play :).
See how big my belly has grown! We just entered our 3rd trimester (29 weeks).



I'm in love with this vintage faux fur hat. I pretend it's my real hair, haha.

My Ann D's have finally seen the light of day :).

DUMBO, Brooklyn

DUMBO - Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass.
Quite a funny name for a neighborhood, right?
We explored the area one hot and sticky Sunday.









Dress is from British store All Saints. I was quite happy when they opened a store in Soho.
I've been lusting after their clothes and accessories after I saw them on my London trip 2 months ago.

I'm back to my old stomping ground, New York City! :)
All the traveling was fantastic but I'm happy to be back home.

Summer is the perfect time for these colorful shoes!

Union Square

One of the best places to people watch is Union Square.



You'll see the diversity of New Yorkers here. All of them equally interesting.



On Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, Union Square is transformed into a farmer's market -- selling organic and locally grown produce.
On other days, you'll still see vendors selling colorful art.



More people watching.
I think the lady is stealing furtive glances to the cool dude she's seating with.

Union Square is a good place to pet watch as well. Poor gal, she had to walk with a doggie version of a cast.

staying warm

It has been so cold and dreary here in New York City.
All I wanted to do was curl up in my sofa, drink hot coco and watch TV.
It takes ages to dress up and all I ever see outside is a sea of black coats and freezing faces.
Bleak isn't it?

But sometimes when I feel the fashion juices running through my veins, I get inspired
and try to put more effort on how I dress these days.







It helps too that this Emilio Pucci cable knit dress is so unbelievably warm and cozy.
It's as if I brought my comforter with me! (It's quite heavy also.)

Another way to stay warm and one of the reasons I'm convinced to step out of my apartment is great food.
We love taking advantage of NYRW!

It's been such a busy, crazy few weeks!
We've been preparing for our trip, finishing up our Christmas shopping, attending holiday parties,
and doing overtime at work.
It's true what they say... the holidays are really the happiest and the most stressful time of the year.

I hope everyone stayed warm and safe over the weekend.
The Nor'easter was pretty nasty.



But we still managed to take in the festive holiday vibe of New York.
Not even 12 inches of snow could dampen it! :)
Walking through 5th Avenue, we were wowed by the amazing window displays.
My favorite are Bergdorf Goodman's.







I'm so thankful for all the blessings this past year has brought.
Even after living here in NY for a few years, I'm still amazed and beyond grateful for being where I am.
I guess it's meant to be :).



I hope 2010 is going to be just if not more wonderful!
