christmas came early this year!

i twitted a few weeks ago that i won $1,000 gift card at derek lam.
i was invited by a friend to the designer's trunk show and won their raffle.
i'm so excited!   it's not everyday one wins shopping money ;).

today, i finally took my winnings and bought the following items.
i waited a few weeks because i know that the sales are coming.
my waiting paid of... the items that i want are 40% off!
i was now able to purchase 2 beautiful items with my gift card.

i know that i'll be able to use these boots a lot as they go with everything!



i can't wait to wear both of them!

my secret givenchy purchase

these givenchy booties were my barney's sale purchase.
when i was contemplating which shoe to buy on the sale, these were the obvious choice.
seeing how much nini, judy and jane get so much wear out of it sealed the deal.
snagging them at 50% off the retail price did not hurt either :).

wore them out for the first time at a friend's house-warming party.

i was supposed to be on a shopping ban but i could not resist not buying these!
so they spent a few weeks hiding under the bed.
i thought i've been a "good" girl so i finally showed them to lex.
thank god he was in a good mood that day!
i even managed to convince him to take a few pictures. :)

my felines

i first became aware of the highly collectible christopher ross belts from atlantis home.
they are beautiful and unique but if i wanted one, i came in too late in the bidding game.
they have become so expensive, fetching around $400 on ebay.

but as luck would have it, i was able to get these 2 pieces for cheap!
i figured that if i don't love them, i could always sell and get a pretty decent profit.

  i bought this on ebay and the price did not go so high because the seller did not put "christopher ross" on the item title or description!  there was practically no competition!
it's marked c.ross 1976 at the back.

i could not believe it when i saw this belt at the divas shop for opera event yesterday.
it was just lying there among the sea of belts and ties peering and begging for me to bring her home.  she's so cute!
and how can anyone resist those mesmerizing ruby eyes??

so the question now is... should i sell them and make a few hundred dollars in profit?
maybe not right now.
i'm planning on wearing the cute little kitty this weekend :).

the one that got away...

we all have that one item that got away.
for some reason or another.
forever lost.
like this vintage 80s fur and leather jacket.



isn't it beautiful? truly a unique piece.
the golden hardware, the supple leather, and the rich luscious fur.

the quest for the perfect trench

Until I can justify a $$$$ trench from Burberry, looking for the perfect Spring trench is so difficult.  There are a lot of choices out there but it always felt that I was compromising with each trench I came close to buying.  Until one day, I found this perfect-for-me trench by Patrizia Pepe.  It fits close to the body.  The shade of light khaki is just the one I was looking for.  The fabric has a slight stiffness to it which makes it look smart and the stand up collar to hold.  And best of all, it did not break my bank account.  So I'm really happy I got lucky and found it :).  I took it out for a stroll in Soho one windy New York Saturday afternoon.

The silk scarf I had on is Moschino and the wood platform heels are Chloe. They are probably the tallest pair that I own. 5 inchers!! I can't believe I walked around the cobble stoned streets of Soho in these! Here's a close up shot.

deal of the century21

I love Century 21!  I found so many great deals there it's mind boggling!  An example are these bronze metallic pointy-toe flats by Giuseppe Zanotti.  

Now, Zanotti's are dear to my heart.  I wore one of their gorgeous designs on my wedding day.  So I always keep an eye out for them in the sales rack.  On my recent trip to Century 21, I was mindlessly browsing through the European Shoes section.  I wasn't really expecting to find anything since they don't have any major Sale promotions at that moment.  But a neon orange sticker caught my eye.  Neon orange stickers on shoes are always good!  :)

I did not imagine it would be this good though.  This pair originally costs $450, then it was priced at $219.97.  But I got it for just $39.99!!!  And it is my size!  I can't believe my luck! :)

The sparkly cuff I have on will be for another post ;) But here's something sparkly too. I can't help but post the Giuseppe Zanotti sandals I wore at my wedding. Aren't they pretty? When can I wear them again?
